Babel

The latest film from Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, the director of "Amores Perros" and "21 grams" -in which benicio del Torro gives a spectacular performance!- is the must-see movie of the season.

A dark affair indeed it is this description of the incredible solitude and violence of the world in which we live. Perhaps the first film I have seen that threats directly of globalization. But globalization as in the opportunities that arise for people unrelated to get in touch with one another, to touch one another, a (superficial) contact between people/civilizations ends up being a non-dialogue. Moreover, AGI gives us a scolding vision of our societies ability to generate an incredible level of violence, much to the disinterest of anyone and everyone.

A dark, somber tale, with a remarkable interpretation from Koji Yakusho. Great camera work, heightened sense of colors and granular treatment. AGI knows how to domesticate light, and that also is a treat.
